WELCOME TO ANIMAL BACKS
In todays world the role of the horse and dog has evolved from roaming free in the wild; horses are expected, but not designed, to carry a rider, taking part in various disciplines. The dog has also had to adapt as it is asked to take part in more activities, with events and competitions becoming increasingly popular with dog owners.

The demands placed on animals have increased, with different disciplines putting added stresses and strains on the animals' musculoskeletal system. These can result in muscle spasm and misalignments of the spinal column resulting in pain and discomfort in the back and other areas of the body. Pain and discomfort can prevent the animal from working at their optimum level and even prevent them from carrying out normal day to day activities. It is essential to know when to seek help to ensure your animal does not suffer for long periods of time.
Although complementary therapies have been used for many years it is now becoming increasingly popular when it comes to treating animals as awareness of different therapies has been promoted. The non-invasive techniques which are used allow the animal to relax and enjoy the treatment. As a fully trained McTimoney animal practitioner and Equine Sports Massage Therapist I can identify and highlight any areas of soreness or discomfort and using the various techniques I can help elevate the problem areas.

Animal Backs treats the body as a whole using a holistic approach, there is NO 'cracking bones' involved. The treatment aims to rebalance, realign and restore biomechanic and neurological function. The philosophy behind McTimoney and massage understands that when the animals' body is functioning correctly it is able to restore health, maintain soundness and improve performance.
